Summer Garden Studio
– quiet village location in Charakopio
A charming self-contained, detached studio, complete with private walled-garden, in the quiet back streets of the traditional village of Charakopio, just 4 km from Koroni.
Less than 2 minutes walk to the village centre, it’s the perfect location for a couple, or a single traveler, looking for a relaxing break in an authentic Greek village – or an ideal base for an artist’s or writer’s retreat.
The studio offers views to a neighbouring olive grove, traditional village houses and hill-side villages in the distance.
the studio
The 30sq metre, detached studio, offers all you need for a relaxing holiday, with the added bonus of a private garden. You’ll sleep on a comfortable bed (which extends to a full king-size double), with a view through the glass door to the garden. [Note: suitable for a single person or a couple only.]
All doors and windows are fitted with mosquito/fly screens and there’s air conditioning, a ceiling fan plus portable table-top fan for the summer months. For cooler months, there’s electric heaters and cosy duvets. There’s a clothes airer, iron and ironing mat for laundry. There’s a wicker arm chair and directional lamps for inside reading.
the garden
You will have sole use of a 35m² private walled garden, planted with citrus trees and geraniums. The garden is the perfect place to enjoy your coffee, accompanied by birdsong in the cool of the morning… a lunchtime snack under the shade of the umbrella… or a sundowner relaxing on the banquettes under the bamboo pergola.
Despite being just 200m from the centre of the village, it’s extremely quiet and peaceful, with views to an olive grove to the rear, neighbouring village houses and the hills of Chrysokellaria in the distance.
the kitchenette
The kitchenette has everything you need to create and enjoy your meals. There’s a spacious refrigerator with a good size freezer compartment. There’s a 4-ring electric hob – without an oven, but we can supply a slow cooker if you would like one.
For coffee-making, you’ll find a cafetière, a briki and an espresso maker (on the hob type). There’s essential electrical appliances: kettle, toaster and toasted sandwich maker… and you’ll find plenty of crockery, cutlery, kitchen knives and general kitchen equipment.
the bathroom
The compact bathroom is reminiscent of 1970’s Greece… the shower falls directly onto the floor and also over the toilet! Fortunately, toilet paper is protected by a waterproof holder. The floor drains well and dries quickly in the summer months.
There isn’t solar heating, but water is heated in about ten minutes by flicking a switch in the fuse box. We provide shampoo, soap and shower gel as well as a hair dryer. There’s also a clothes airer and pegs for drying any washing in the garden. A small window opens onto the garden.

your hosts
Originally from the UK, Gill and Mick Tomlinson have been living and working in Charakopio for over 15 years.
Gill is an artist, whose work draws on her everyday surroundings, as well as past memories of the Greek islands, creating art that’s inspired by all the many facets of this beautiful region. In 2019 Gill and Mick opened The Art Studio in the centre of the village, which sells her original artwork as well as prints and gift items made from her art. Gill also runs art workshops from there. Amongst other endeavours, Mick does graphic design and works alongside Gill in her art business.
Their house is just opposite, and they are always on hand to give local information and help in any way they can, if needed – but they’ll always completely respect your privacy.
